Dear Students,

Newly admitted students are required to change their initial password based on the data provided during the admission process at https://uni-bge.hu/en/password-policy/forgotten-password.

Please follow the rules below when creating a new password:

• It must be at least 8 characters long.
• It must include lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers.
• Do not include your Neptun code, surname, or first name in the password.

To change your password, you will need to provide the following information:

• Neptun code
• The email address provided during the admission process (e.g., gmail.com, freemail.hu, icloud.com, etc.)

After a successful password change, we will send further instructions to the provided email address.

In case of a forgotten password

If you have forgotten your password or are unable to log in for any reason, you can request a new password at https://uni-bge.hu/en/password-policy/forgotten-password as well.

You will need:

• Neptun code
• The default email address registered in Neptun (email addresses ending in @unibge.hu cannot be used)

Important: When setting a new password, please also follow the password policy (at least 8 characters, including lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers).

Important information

• If password change fails, please contact the faculty IT support staff.
• After multiple failed login attempts, your user account will be locked. It will automatically unlock after 30 minutes.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To enhance data security, the university introduced mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in 2024 for using both the Neptun and Microsoft accounts.

Changing password in university systems

You can change your password in any system; the new password will be valid across all systems:

• Neptun: Personal Information / Settings
• Modulo: Login page – Change Password button
• University computers: Press CTRL+ALT+DEL / Change Password
